Conditions of Hire<br />
Duration of Hire<br />
Republic of Ireland minimum hire is 2 days.<br />
Driver Qualifications<br />
• All drivers must have a valid driver’s licence issued in their country<br />
of residence, held for at least 12 months. For Italy and Spain an<br />
international drivers licence is mandatory. Other countries may<br />
also require an international drivers licence, please check with your<br />
travel agent prior to booking.<br />
• In UK and Europe minimum and maximum age restrictions apply<br />
and may vary between countries, details available on application.<br />
• Young Driver surcharges apply in some countries. Age and<br />
car type selected will impact surcharge amounts, details<br />
on application.<br />
Deposits<br />
A minimum deposit or credit card imprint at the commencement<br />
of the rental to cover fuel and optional services will be required.<br />
Deposits vary between countries, details available on application.<br />

One Way Rentals – “Rent it here, leave it there”<br />
Europe: One-way rentals are permitted for certain car groups,<br />
these vary between countries in Europe, but in most cases a<br />
minimum rental of seven days will apply. Details available<br />
on application.<br />
United Kingdom: One-way rentals are permitted within United<br />
Kingdom, including between Britain and Northern Ireland. A fee<br />
may apply between Britain and Northern Ireland which varies and<br />
there may be restrictions with various car types.<br />
Special Conditions<br />
• Additional drivers; charges for additional drivers apply and vary<br />
between countries. These charges are to be paid in local currency<br />
on collection of the vehicle. Details available on application.<br />
• Cars may be driven from mainland Britain into continental Europe,<br />
Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, however, VE103B<br />
coverage is required and a fee will apply and the car must be<br />
returned to mainland Britain.<br />
• Any extension of rentals will be charged at the local retail price,<br />
valid at the pick-up rental depot.<br />
• Cars collected in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland cannot<br />
be driven into continental Europe.<br />
Included Insurance<br />
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) removes the additional financial<br />
responsibility for damage to the vehicle over and above the<br />
standard excess amount on the hire as long as the terms of the<br />
rental agreement are not violated. Details of the standard excess<br />
are available on application.<br />
• Theft Protection (TP) removes the additional financial<br />
responsibility for loss or theft of the vehicle over and above the<br />
standard excess amount on the hire as long as the terms of the<br />
rental agreement are not violated. Details of the standard excesses<br />
are available on application.<br />
• Third Party Liability Unlimited cover against bodily injury to Third<br />
Party or damage to property of Third Party.<br />

Optional Insurance<br />
Hertz has a number of optional insurance packages available at time<br />
of hire to reduce excess amounts or provide additional personal<br />
accident insurance. These are payable direct.<br />
You should check what is covered by your insurance policy.<br />
Location Service Charge (LSC)<br />
This charge applies to premium depot locations where cars are<br />
collected at airports, key city centre locations and railway stations.<br />
Vehicle Licensing Fee (VLF)<br />
This is a car registration fee which applies across the United<br />
Kingdom and Europe but is not applicable in the Republic of Ireland<br />
or Spain.<br />
Costs that are not Included<br />
Fuel, road tolls and London Congestion charge.<br />
London Congestion Charge<br />
Transport for London (Tfl) levies a Congestion Charge of GBP10.00<br />
per day for driving in central London, Mondays to Fridays (7.00am<br />
to 6.00pm), excluding weekends and public holidays. It is the<br />
customers responsibility to register the vehicle you are driving<br />
on a central database and to pay the charge each day you travel<br />
within the applicable zone. If you are renting from locations inside<br />
the zone (St Pancras, Russell Square, London Victoria and Marble<br />
Arch) Hertz pays the first day’s charge and adds this charge to your<br />
rental agreement. Additional days must be paid by the customer.<br />
If the charge is not paid by midnight on the day of your journey,<br />
and is paid by midnight the following day, the charge increases to<br />
GBP12.00 and can only be paid either via the Hertz call centre or on<br />
the Tfl website. Charges can be paid daily by cash, cheque or credit<br />
card at selected retail outlets including post offices, petrol stations<br />
and nominated pay points.<br />
