Dr Tracy Henderson B App Sc, GDip (Econ), PhD<br />

Director (non-executive)<br />

Appointed 27 May 2011 for a three-year term.<br />

Dr Tracy Henderson has extensive experience in research strategy,<br />

management <strong>and</strong> evaluation <strong>and</strong> is a former consultant, academic<br />

<strong>and</strong> research manager. Tracy was awarded a PhD in Agricultural<br />

<strong>Research</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Development</strong> Evaluation from the University of<br />

Queensl<strong>and</strong> in which she developed a strategic evaluation framework<br />

to manage <strong>and</strong> improve the performance of sugar research.<br />

Tracy was formerly a Federal Councillor of the Australian Agricultural<br />

<strong>and</strong> Resource Economics Society <strong>and</strong> currently works with CSIRO<br />

Performance & Evaluation.<br />

Annette Sugden B App Sci (App Geo); Grad Dip App Sci (Res Man);<br />

Master Sust Man; ALIA<br />

Executive Director Appointed on 28 May 2010<br />

Ms Sugden joined the SRDC in 2008 as a Senior Investment Manager<br />

responsible for strategic R&D investment planning.<br />

Tertiary qualifi ed in natural resource management, highlights of<br />

her successful career in the primary industry sector include the<br />

management of the deer, pasture seed, fodder crop, <strong>and</strong> organics<br />

research <strong>and</strong> development programs within the Rural Industries<br />

<strong>Research</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Corporation</strong>, <strong>and</strong> management of the<br />

Australian Government’s Farm Innovation Program, the Rural Financial<br />

Counselling Service <strong>and</strong> the Southern NSW Regional Forest Agreement<br />

Social Assessment process.<br />

In addition to providing secretariat services to three multi-state<br />

Ministerial Committees (SLWRMC, SCARM <strong>and</strong> ARMCANZ), <strong>and</strong><br />

working on the Commonwealth component of the Murray-Darling<br />

Basin Initiative, including the Commonwealth input to the Murray-<br />

Darling Basin Ministerial Council <strong>and</strong> Commission meetings, Ms<br />

Sugden was the Commonwealth representative at the Cape York<br />

Peninsula L<strong>and</strong> Use Strategy (CYPLUS), <strong>and</strong> was the Murray-Darling<br />

Basin program specialist on the Natural Heritage Trust’s South<br />

Australian grants program.<br />
