2.8 Phone Status Monitoring
Feature ID(s): 11914
Currently, in order to monitor a user using the CAP interface, a user must have the
Attendant Console feature assigned because this is how monitored users are configured.
In this release, a new user feature called Phone Status Monitoring is added, which is used
to configure the list of monitored users. It can be assigned to a user independently from
the Attendant Console feature. Otherwise, the Attendant Console feature maintains its
current functionality.
This allows the monitoring function to be decoupled from the BroadWorks Attendant
Console so that it is available to third-party clients.
2.8.1 Description
This activity introduces a new Phone Monitoring feature that can be assigned to a user.
When assigned, by default there are no users in the monitored user’s list. Once the list is
populated, the same list can be used by the Attendant Console client, client license
applications, or any other third-party attendant console application that communicates with
the Application Server via the OCI interface.
All other users in the same group can be added to or removed from the list of monitored
users. The available users can be filtered based on the users’ department.
All other configurations that are part of the Attendant Console feature remain with the
Attendant Console including the following:
Flag to indicate if the Attendant Console is launched on login
Flag to allow user to configure call details
Flag to allow user to view call details
 Ability to configure display columns
For third-party applications using the Attendant Console functionality via OCI, the user
must have both the Client Call Control and the Phone Status Monitoring features
assigned.
For client license applications using the Attendant Console functionality via OCI, the user
must have the corresponding Client License feature and the Phone Status Monitoring
feature assigned. For the user who is using the BroadSoft Attendant Console client, the
user must have both the Attendant Console and the Phone Status Monitoring features
assigned.
For users with the Attendant Console feature currently assigned, the new Phone Status
Monitoring feature is automatically assigned to the user through the upgrade process.
