2.10 Call Waiting Feature ID(s): 12679 Currently, call waiting is implicitly offered to any user: � Assigned the Call Manager � Assigned the Client Call Control service � With an endpoint on an intelligent device or a trunking device � Assigned the Flash Call Waiting service The purpose of this feature is to create a Call Waiting service that provides users with the same call waiting functionality but which must be explicitly assigned to make the functionality available. 2.10.1 Description This activity consolidates call waiting functionality under a new user service called Call Waiting, which must be explicitly assigned to users to provide call waiting functionality. This enhancement allows service providers to license and authorize call waiting functionality explicitly, thus allowing them to sell the service instead of having the functionality automatically provided to users based on their endpoint and other factors. After upgrading to this release, users who had call waiting functionality via other mechanisms are automatically provided with the new Call Waiting service so their service set remains unchanged. Only their CommPilot Personal portal is modified to expose the new Call Waiting service. 2.11 Calling Line ID Delivery Feature ID(s): 12680 Currently, caller ID is delivered by default to BroadWorks users when available. This service makes Calling Line ID Delivery a service that can be authorized and assigned so that an operator can sell the service. 2.11.1 Description The Calling Line ID Delivery service is divided into two features: External Calling Line ID Delivery and Internal Calling Line ID Delivery. 2.11.1.1 External Calling Line ID Delivery This feature allows BroadWorks subscribers to view the caller ID information of another user in a different group. This feature also applies to intra-group calls using the Network Server. Once this service is assigned, the user can disable or enable the service. 2.11.1.2 Internal Calling Line Delivery This feature allows BroadWorks subscribers to view the caller ID information of another user within the same group. 2.12 Configurable Calling Line ID for Emergency Calls Feature ID(s): 13613 This activity changes the Release 10 Configurable Calling Line ID functionality. Currently Configurable Calling Line ID is not used for emergency calls. This feature allows use of the configurable user calling line ID (CLID) for emergency calls. The requirements to enable the CLI feature have changed. The system parameter that is used to enable or disable the feature must accommodate the following conditions: � Enable the use of configurable CLID for all calls � Enable the use of configurable CLID for all calls except emergency calls � Enable the use of configurable CLID for emergency calls only � Disable the use of configurable CLID for all calls 2.12.1 Description For the Configurable Calling Line ID feature, the following Calling Line ID delivery rules apply: � For non-emergency calls, the precedence for calling line ID delivery is as follows: − The group CLID (if configured and enabled) always has precedence over configurable user CLID as well as the user’s phone number − The configurable user CLID always has precedence over the user’s phone number when the configurable CLID is enabled for “All calls” or for “All except emergency calls” − The configurable user CLID is not used when the configurable CLID is enabled for “Emergency only calls” � For emergency calls, the precedence for calling line ID delivery is as follows: − The group CLID (if configured and enabled) has precedence over configurable user CLID only when the configurable CLID is disabled or enabled for “All except emergency calls” − The configurable user CLID has precedence over the group CLID when the configurable CLID is enabled for “All calls” or for “Emergency only calls” BROADWORKS FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY 2O-BD5013-00 PAGE 19 OF 93
