The last two items involve delivering files (graphical files and audio files) from the Conferencing Server to the browser. If the Conferencing Server is on the private network, it cannot “serve” these files to users accessing the <strong>BroadWorks</strong> system from the public network, for example, through the External Web Server. Therefore, the Conferencing Server must also be reachable from the public network. For other access to the Conferencing Server, an access control list restricts the use of the Conferencing Server web user interface. In the current release conferences are “owned” by their creator, which means that administrators can view and modify only those conferences they created. At the same time, deleting a bridge administrator deletes conferences owned by that administrator, which was not the case in previous releases. For added flexibility, a bridge administrator can designate another bridge administrator as a delegate, on a per-bridge basis. Delegates are then able to view and modify conferences created by the delegator, in addition to their own as illustrated in the following figure. Taking into account these two limitations, the following process is automatically applied upon an upgrade: 1) Existing conferences are marked as “owned” by the “Bridge Default Administrator” for a given conference bridge on the Application Server. The default administrator does not appear in the list of bridge administrators. 2) Existing bridge administrators are designated as delegates of the default administrator. This cannot be undone. The main purpose of the default administrator is to take ownership of existing conferences. Being designated as delegates of “default”, existing bridge administrators continue to view and modify existing conferences. However, no new conferences can be created in the name of the default administrator. New bridge administrators automatically become delegates of “default”, in order to view pre-upgrade conferences. (However, this only happens if the default administrator exists on the Conferencing Server.)
