5.1 Livoroool<br />

S-~@regation~ithln <strong>the</strong> ground dictates that Livmrpool fans<br />

will travel via <strong>the</strong> M&2 - M1 - A61 and on <strong>the</strong> A628 - M1. Tho~e<br />

oupport~rs travelling down <strong>the</strong> MI will exit at Junction 36 and<br />

will be directed on <strong>the</strong> A&I to <strong>the</strong> ground. In <strong>the</strong> evmnt o~<br />

Junction 36 becoming heavily conJested, Liverpool traffic will be<br />

rodlrected to Junction 35 and follow <strong>the</strong> ~mergency route $hown in<br />

l Appendix "A’.This diversion will not be taken Into u~e without<br />

instruction from a supervisory officer.<br />

5.2<br />

The Liverpool coaches will be parked on Claywheels Lane and<br />

Halifax Road by beat personnel.<br />

5.3 Nottlnqham Forest<br />

The Nottingham supporters are expected to travel north on<br />

<strong>the</strong> MI motorway where <strong>the</strong>y will be directed to leave at Junction<br />

34, Tinsley. From <strong>the</strong>re all tra~flc will travel along Attercliffe<br />

Common - Weedon Street - Brlghtside Lane. At <strong>the</strong> Junction with<br />

Upwell Street traffic will be split. Private cars will continue<br />

.~ along Brightslde Lane - Saville Street - Su<strong>the</strong>rland Street -<br />

Gower Street - Burngreave Road - Rutland Road - to Neepsend<br />

Lane where <strong>the</strong>y will be advised to find parking. Coaches<br />

mini-buses and vans Hill be turned right at Upwell Street and<br />

will <strong>the</strong>n travel via Owler Lane to Herries Road. These vehicles<br />

will <strong>the</strong>n be parked at <strong>the</strong> Herries bus depot.<br />

5.4<br />

In <strong>the</strong> event of <strong>the</strong> primary route for cars becoming<br />

over-conjested <strong>the</strong>re are four secondary routes available shown at<br />

appendix "A’ Some traffic may be sent on <strong>the</strong> coach route. None<br />

of <strong>the</strong> alternative routes ~ll be used without consulting a<br />

supervisory officer.<br />

Despite <strong>the</strong> above instructions any Nottingham supporter<br />

travelling by, car and particularly wishing to leave <strong>the</strong> motorway<br />

at junztion 33, Catcl~ffe, and travel via <strong>the</strong> Parkway will be<br />

allo~ed to do so.<br />

5.6<br />

Supervisory officers must ensure Operations room are<br />

informed of any traffic diversions effected.<br />

5.7<br />

A reserve of eight offlcers shown in appendix O wlll remain<br />

on standby at Driving school. If implementing <strong>the</strong> emergency<br />

routes necessltates fur<strong>the</strong>r manpower <strong>the</strong>se officers plus <strong>the</strong><br />

motorcycle ~ing should be used.<br />
