APPEh~IX 2 - ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS
l’be Holder shall arrange with Sou~h Yorkshire Metroi~oli=an Ambulance Service
for the attendance of at least one’fully equipped ambulance at a Specified
Activity where 5,000 or more spec=~=ors are expected to a==eD.d.
The Holder shall provide and maintain suitable and sufficient cutting
equip=en= ro enable peri=e:er fencing ~o be removed quickly if necessarD" in
=he event of an e=ergency. ~-.e Holder shall ensure =ha= stewards (a) are
properly =rained in the use of this cutting equipment and (b) use the
equipment when directed ~o do so by the South Yorkshire Police¯
The Holder shal! inspect each turnstile and measure its potential race of
f!ow and shall ensure that each turnstile is and remains capable of
admitting spectators a= the anticipated race and shall provide a report to
the Council of =he results of such inspection by 16=h August, 1989.
l’he Holder shall enter into a writ’.en agreement with the Chief Constable of
=he South Yorkshire Police setting ou= =he respective res.ponsibili=ies of
the Club and =he Police for crowd safety and control. The agreement shall
specify responsibilities for the filling of all terraced areas of the Sports
Ground and the monitoring of spectators in such areas to avoid overcrowding.
A copy of the agreement shall be supplied to =he Council by 16th August,
1989. Any variation of the agreement shall be agreed in writing in advance
and the Council notified of the variation.
All gates in radial or perimeter fencing shall be painted in a different
colour from =he rest of the fence and marked "emergency exit"
All gates giving access from the terraces to =he pitch shall be kept fully
open during a Specified Activity.
(a) The Holder shall immmediately visually inspect all crush barriers for
signs of corrosion. Any barrier found to be affected by a significant
degree of corrosion shall be repaired or replaced by 16th August, 1989.
(b) The Holder shall immediately review the layout of barriers in each
retraced area to ensure that it complies with =he criteria contained in
Chapter 9 of the Green Guide.
(c) The Holder shall notify the Council in writing of =he results of =he
inspection and review carried out pursuant to conditions 27(a) and (b) by
16th August, 2989.
Tne I~older shall immediately review the signpos=ing for spectators both
inside and outside the Ground and any information printed on tickets. ~-he
Holder shall notify =he Council of =he results of this review and of its
proposals in =his regard by =he 16~h August, 1989.
¯ l’ne Council may at any time by notice in writing, for reasons of public
safety, require the Holder to carry out such works and/or inspections as may
be specified in =he notice. The Holder shall comply with any rea, uiremen= or
conditions specified in that notice¯
I0. No spectator ~hall be allowed access to that par= of the Sports Ground known
as The West Terrace.
