Subsequent to a meeting at Haumertx~ Road Polfoe Station cn 22nd
to discass various matters arising from the match between Sheffield
Wednesday and Sheffield United on 21st ~, I ha~e had cause to
revise the re~ hol~ capacity for this area of the ground.

You will recall that the present capacity figures ware produced within
hours, cn llst August, 1989, ard therefore cnly a paper exercise was
carried (~ut in that restrictive time. ¯ ..-
A site visit earlier today revealed the extent of the area of terrace
partially blinded by the screen between the North West Terrace and the
North Stand.
Accordingly that area has been omitted from the gross available area of
terra~_.
The holding capacity of the remaining areas has been re-ca!culated and
modified in accordance with the Taylor reccmY~ndations,, giving a resultant
figure of 1,709.
Eastwood and Partners drawing number 1610/64E has been used for the layout
of this area. In a telelAbone conversation between Mr Strange of Eas~
and ?~ and nry Principal Structural Engineer, late this afternoon, it
was intimated tbmt this drawing may not be accurate, and that the gross
available space may be slightly s~aller than is shown an the drawing.
Until the area has been resurveyed and revised drawings received, I would
r~ that the holding capacity for the Upper North West Terrace be a
maxinum of 1,500.
