unmet demand for swimming pools, publicly accessible
sports halls, health and fitness facilities, MUGA and
tennis courts. Each site will have its limitations to what
facilities it will be able to accommodate and this will need
to be explored.
John Kelly Technology College is in an area of the
greatest unmet demand for a majority of sports facilities
such as a publicly accessible swimming pool, publicly
accessible sports hall, health and fitness facilities, MUGA,
synthetic turf pitch, and indoor tennis. This location
would benefit the most from improved access to health
and fitness facilities.
Queens Park School is located in an area where the
greatest demand is for publicly accessible sports hall
provision and south of the borough is under-supplied
with public accessible grass football pitches.

sports facilities, however, as these are mostly private, the
schools do have an important part to play in providing
community accessible facilities. There are schools located
close to the central and north east parts of the borough
and these sites such as Kingsbury, Copland School and
John Kelly Technology College provide in ways into
adding facilities located close to these areas and there
may be an opportunity to position facilities in slightly
different areas where there is greater need.
Kingsbury is located in an area of demand for a range of
sports facilities such as a swimming pool, a play and pay
health and fitness facility, and a publicly accessible sports
hall.
Claremont High School, JFS and St Gregory’s R.C High
school are all located close to the north border of the
borough. JFS and Claremont High School already have
a range of sports provisions however to increase the
capacity of these facilities there needs to be public access.
There is also a need for more health and fitness provision
in this area as well as swimming pool provision.
Preston Manor High school is also located in an area
of demand for both health and fitness facilities and a
