Claremont High School in Kenton (North of the
borough) has been granted planning permission
(September 2008) for a full sized synthetic turf
pitch with floodlights. This would be open to sports
clubs or community associations after school and
weekends. However, the Jewish Free School have
a synthetic turf pitch close by, meaning that this
facility will do very little in meeting any of the unmet
demand.
Tennis Courts
Quality and Quantity
Brent has a total of 74 tennis courts, 35 of which
are located on 7 local authority sites (including
Queen’s Park which is maintained by the Corporation
of London), 17 on 5 education sites, and 22 on 5
privately owned club sites. The courts which are on
the privately owned sites are in the best condition
compared to local authority and education courts,
with an average quality score of 85%.
