Partnered with a variety of courses, these companies and institutions offer invaluable resources and contacts and give you the opportunity to gain real experiences within your chosen industry. Here are a few examples of our partnerships: MyCornwall.tv This internet TV channel employs several Falmouth graduates and offers a range of opportunities for students to produce content and learn about online television formats. Project Base A contemporary visual arts organisation commissioning internationally established artists to work with local communities to present exciting and innovative projects. Aardman The film and television animation company that produced the Wallace and Gromit films is one of the professional partners for our new Skillset Short Courses. Kneehigh Theatre Celebrated touring theatre company with a long history of working with our graduates, Kneehigh also works with Falmouth on the development of their communications and digital content strategies. COllAbORAtIve PhD PROJeCtS — Falmouth has recently been awarded research funding from the European Social Fund for ten research students to work with a Cornish business on themes related to economic regeneration (p39). — Eden Project Falmouth students engage with this iconic landmark and pioneering environmental educational charity through events, exhibitions, live briefs, symposia, work placements and even ice skating!
Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange With its prestigious history spanning 115 years, Newlyn and its impressive new exhibition space, The Exchange, offer students an inspiring place to show their work alongside some of the most highly respected contemporary artists. Newlyn Art Gallery is a partner of MA Curatorial Practice. Leach Pottery Internationally significant pottery in St Ives providing internship opportunities, exhibition spaces and workshops with master potters. Arnolfini Situated on the waterside in Bristol, Arnolfini is one of Europe’s leading centres for the contemporary arts – hosting exhibitions, film, live art, dance, music and literature – and is a course partner for MA Performance Writing. Tate St Ives Internships, exhibitions and Artist-in-Residence are just some of the opportunities enjoyed by Falmouth students at the worldfamous Tate St Ives, perched right opposite stunning Porthmeor Beach. The Tate is a partner of MA Curatorial Practice. The Writer London’s leading business writing agency (with clients including Sky, the BBC and HSBC) offers a bursary each year to one of our MA Professional Writing students, which also includes hands-on experience in their offices. Wildworks Falmouth has a close relationship with this Cornwall-based international theatre company who produce unique landscape theatre in challenging places such as old quarries, derelict mines and even abandoned department stores! Ruth GOODInG MA Curatorial Practice graduate — The course was completely focused on our work experience and using the course partners, the Tate St Ives and Newlyn, we were encouraged to talk to staff and to begin networking. I work in collections now so the link with the Tate St Ives was particularly important to my career development, especially regarding museum care and conservation, which is essential if you want to go on to work in a museum or with a collection.
