Debate Swings into Action
Debate, a well rounded class, met everyday
during sixth period. It offered a
variety of speech orientated learning for
competition. It covered different speaking
styles such as dramatic, humorous
and intellectuaL. It was a class that taught
life-long skills like researching, note-taking,
logic, comprehension, communication,
and poise. They do many different
fun activities that were supported by car
washes, yard sales and coupon sales.
They held a Christmas Party in December
and had many tournaments during

the year. Their biggest tournament was
one at PLU. Jessica Sundin stated, "Debate
is one of the best activities offered
by Lewis and Clark. The in-town tournaments
are the best of them alL."
