Helping to contribute to the diverse<br />
curriculum at L.c. is the Special Education<br />
Program offered here. The students en- .<br />
rolled in these courses learn to become<br />
independent. Some of the social skíls<br />
taught that others take for granted are<br />
cooking and grocery shopping. Students<br />
spend much of their time downtown<br />
learning about city life (directions, money,<br />
bíls, . . , ) Although budget cuts have<br />
diminshed resources for bussing and<br />
cooking, the class is growing yearly and is<br />
immenesly successful, It is this success<br />
that make the hard work, patience and<br />
extra effort put forth rewarding for the<br />
teachers.<br />
