- Last season, several baseball players on the Tiger team increased their performance both on the field and at the plate,However, this year there was quite a bit of room for improvement which was filed through hard work and consistency. Varsity practices were seen this year as more disciplined and quite intense due to the coaching staff. Coached by Mr, Travis, the team consisted mainly of returning seniors. Second team GSL infielder Dan Thompson headed the list of returning varsity players along with Eric Akerhielm, Ron Farrow, Rob Hart, Roger Hollingsworth, and Steve Ward."With hard work and discipline, i think our 89 season was very successful due to our team's together ness and ability to perform," said Eric Akerhielm, With Mr. Travis's skilful coaching and great discipline, the Lewis and Clark Baseball Team had a tremendous improvement during their season of 1989, The freshman baseball team, coached by Tom Yearout, who was new to LC this year, also had a promising season, The team had an excellent mixture of Libby-Sac players who had a lot of determinatioin and great skil- l."Im excited to be a part of LC and I'm especially excited about being a part of Tiger baseball." said Coach Yearout.
