French club meets every two weeks for<br />
the purpose of having fun while learning<br />
about the French. The only requirements<br />
are two dollars a semester and going<br />
through initation, Along with the French<br />
kiss sales and carnation Valentine grams,<br />
the money is used for pizza, movie, and<br />
holiday parties. The French Club also<br />
helps in planning Internation Days. ..i<br />
Would encourage other French students to<br />
join, it's a fun way to have fun and learn<br />
about the French culture," Carrie Vielle,<br />

Learning the Native Tongue<br />

The Russian Club meets once a month to<br />
promote the understanding of Russian culture<br />
among its members and to create interest<br />
in Russian studies, With the help of<br />
club advisor, Mr. Kuljus, president Lori<br />
Mostad, Vice President Samantha Spen-<br />
cer, Treasurer Tyler Felgenhauer, and<br />
Secretary Mike Wiser cooperate to organize<br />
club events, The fifteen active members<br />
work together to raise funds to support<br />
activities such as the Russian dinner,<br />
ice-skating at Riverfront Park, and the International<br />
Dance put on by the cooperative<br />
'efforts of the German and Russian<br />
clubs.<br />
Twice a month, the German Club meets<br />
to provide an opportunity for members to<br />
enjoy the rich culture of Germany and to<br />
promote interest in German studies. Un-<br />
der the supervision of Mr, Kuljus, Richard<br />
Lentes, President; Matt Brown, Vice<br />
president; Ingrid Richter, Secretary; Lara<br />
Winner, Treasurer; and Megan Hurand,<br />
<strong>Public</strong> Relations, organize events such as<br />
the German dinner, new member initiation,<br />
the Christmas party, the annual<br />
BBQ, and the International Dance, The<br />
only requirement for membership is the<br />
abilty to speak two or three German<br />
phrases, Marijke Hayworth's favorite is<br />
"lch glaube deshalb Ich bin" (I think,<br />
therefore I am),<br />
