Over the past four years Mr. E1som's
calculus-physics class has provided
many challenges for high-powered L.c.
students. This is not a class for those of
us who struggled through geometry.
The sole purpose of this class is to better
prepare the small percentage of students
who plan to become scientists
and engineers. In fact, only the top five
percent of students take part in this
class. Calculus-physics is exclusive to
Lewis and Clark and is taught only by
Mr. E1som. He is encouraged by the fact
that students from other area schools
are transferring to L.c. for his class. If
you know Mr. E1som, you know he enjoys
teaching this challenging class. Although
it is extra work for him. he feels
he must provide the challenge for the
students who want to confront it,
