Cooperative office occupations program<br />
(CO-OP) is offered to seniors with<br />
strong interests in an office or business<br />
career. CO-OP members meet during<br />
first period. After school is spent at local<br />
businesses getting on-job training. As a<br />
class, CO-OP offers instruction in office<br />
machines, telephone tecniques, personal<br />
appearance, business problems, and<br />
communication,<br />
Londa Havens and Heide Bibbee agree<br />
that. "CO-OP gives you a good experience<br />
in the business world, It's more<br />
than just a class."<br />
Fund raisers include the sucker sales.<br />
With this money, members take their<br />
employers to lunch, go on feild trips to<br />
businesses and colleges, and do a service<br />
project once a month.<br />

Food Service meets every Monday<br />
during first period. Mrs, Mahan, advisor,<br />
and the six officers: Pres" Loren Berry;<br />
Vice Pres" Jenn Jones; Secretary, Lyn<br />
Andrews; Treasurer, Libet Wolf; and ASB<br />
Reps., Sarah Taitch and Kathy Wasson,<br />
work with the members to organize the<br />
many fundraisers, These include cookie<br />
grams and Tiger Take-out Deli. With the<br />
money earned, Food Service members<br />
buy new equipment. fund the Employee/<br />
Employer Breakfast, take feild trips and<br />
compete in District 81 food fairs,<br />
The purpose of Food Service is to gain<br />
leadership skils, learn responsibilty and<br />
committment and to do some communi-<br />
ty service,<br />
"Besides that." said Sarah Taitch, "it's<br />
a fun way to get to know the food industry."<br />
Distributive Educational Clubs of<br />
America (DECA) is offered to any stu-<br />
dent enrolled in advanced sales and marketing,<br />
The "Deca Motto" according to R.P,<br />
Miler is "developing future leaders in<br />
marketing and distribution. This is also<br />
the purpose of DECA."<br />
The officers of DECA: Pres" Josh Hollingshead;<br />
Vice Pres" Katherine Knauber;<br />
Treasurer, Chad LeBlanc; Secretary, Erika<br />
Knudson; Parliamentarian, Monica<br />
Riebe; and Reporter, Natalie Brown,<br />
DECA club members run the Deca store<br />
and sell pizza, school rings, and value<br />
checks. The group then uses the money<br />
for inner school luncheons, field trips,<br />
and to fund the Employee/Employer Luncheon,<br />
Erika Knutson comments, "For me<br />
DECA has been a good experience, i<br />
think the information I've learned wil<br />
help me in the future, I thank R, P. Miler<br />
and hope that everyone in there has benifited<br />
from the class."<br />
