The goal <strong>of</strong> the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Materiel Acquisition Management is to prepare individuals<br />
for advanced leadership positions in the private, public and military sectors with specific<br />
skills and competencies in materiel acquisition management.<br />
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS<br />
The degree <strong>of</strong> Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Materiel Acquisition Management is conferred upon<br />
students who have successfully completed 33 credit hours <strong>of</strong> graduate course work plus other<br />
course requirements as listed on the student’s approved graduate program plan. Students<br />
without adequate undergraduate background will be required to complete all or part <strong>of</strong> the<br />
program prerequisites. Students may choose elective courses from several <strong>of</strong> the management<br />
or related academic disciplines by securing approval <strong>of</strong> both their faculty adviser and<br />
academic unit head.<br />
Students with undergraduate credits for courses that they believe are equivalent to the program<br />
prerequisites should consult with their adviser concerning waiver <strong>of</strong> those prerequisites.<br />

fully funded U.S. Army <strong>of</strong>ficers at the Fort Lee site.<br />
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (MS/ME)<br />
(Code: 8131)<br />
All master <strong>of</strong> science options can be earned on either a full-time or a part-time basis. A twoyear<br />
projection <strong>of</strong> course <strong>of</strong>ferings is available on request. Course <strong>of</strong>ferings are arranged to<br />
permit the master’s program to be completed by full-time students in a maximum <strong>of</strong> two<br />
calendar years.<br />
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<br />
The undergraduate backgrounds <strong>of</strong> applicants for admission to the master’s degree (MS/ME)<br />
programs vary considerably. For this reason, a variety <strong>of</strong> master’s degree options are available.<br />
The applicant should have a bachelor <strong>of</strong> science or equivalent degree from a mechanical<br />
