Eligibility: Students can take courses at KSC, PAFB, the main campus, via distance<br />
learning, or at the Melbourne site, providing flexibility in scheduling and a wider selection<br />
<strong>of</strong> electives from which to choose. Individuals designated as <strong>of</strong>f-campus students<br />
will pay the <strong>of</strong>f-campus student tuition for courses taken at KSC, PAFB or via distance<br />
learning. The <strong>of</strong>f-campus tuition rate is typically half the on-campus rate. Spaceport<br />
students who elect to take courses on the main campus or at the Melbourne site will<br />
pay the main campus rate.<br />
Registration: Registration for KSC and PAFB students is conducted each semester<br />
online beginning on the date scheduled in the “Academic Calendar” in this section.<br />
Students are strongly urged to register before classes begin. Under certain circumstances,<br />
students may be able to register through the second week <strong>of</strong> classes.<br />
On-Campus Courses: Textbooks for main-campus courses will not be available at the<br />
KSC or PAFB <strong>of</strong>fices; they must be purchased by students at the main campus bookstore.<br />
Parking fees are assessed each term for parking on campus.<br />
On-Campus Students: Melbourne students may not register at the KSC or PAFB <strong>of</strong>fices.<br />
They must register online or at the Melbourne campus for all courses.<br />
Textbooks: Available textbooks will be sold though MBS DIRECT: (800) 325-3252,<br />
or www.mbsdirect.net.<br />
Student ID Cards: May be ordered at branch <strong>of</strong>fices at no cost to students. ID cards<br />
are required at campus library and bookstore.<br />
Libraries: Government libraries are available for <strong>Florida</strong> Tech students through<br />
agreements with KSC and PAFB. <strong>Florida</strong> Tech’s Evans Library on the Melbourne<br />
campus is within reasonable driving distance. Most services (except checking out<br />
materials) can be accessed via the Library Information Network (LINK) Web page at<br />
www.lib.fit.edu/. Other libraries located in Brevard County are available to students.<br />
These include the <strong>college</strong> libraries at Brevard Community College/UCF in Cocoa,<br />
and Brevard Community College in Melbourne and Titusville. Finally, public libraries<br />
are located in Brevard County population centers and include a research library<br />
in Cocoa.<br />
