1. Reference and online searches <strong>of</strong> Defense Technical Information Center databases (DTIC)<br />

are available.<br />

2. Order and circulation <strong>of</strong> the following is available:<br />

a. Classified and unclassified government reports.<br />

b. Independent Research and Development reports (IR&D).<br />

c. Government Information and Data Exchange Program (GIDEP).<br />

Books (Main Room)<br />

1. Area Library Membership: The library is a member <strong>of</strong> the Morris Area Coordinating<br />

Council. The council is composed <strong>of</strong> cooperating libraries <strong>of</strong> County College <strong>of</strong> Morris,<br />

Drew University, Don Bosco College, Fairleigh Dickinson University and the College <strong>of</strong><br />

St. Elizabeth. <strong>Florida</strong> Tech students may avail themselves <strong>of</strong> these libraries.<br />

2. Online Computer Library Center (OCLC): Through the Technical Library’s membership<br />

in OCLC, students have available about 13 million titles from 2,500 libraries.<br />

3. Online Bibliographic Searches in DIALOG and BRS databases: Through the Technical<br />

Library’s availability <strong>of</strong> DIALOG, students can access more than 200 commercial databases<br />

regarding journals and periodicals that are indexed.<br />

4. Interlibrary Loans: Book loans are available from throughout the United States. Loans will<br />

also be arranged for students from Morris County Coordinating Area Council libraries.<br />

Periodicals (Room 10)<br />

1. Technical Periodicals, Journals and Magazines: Current issues are in bound form in Room<br />

11 and in film form in lektreivers. Most VSMF files are now online via the network. Access<br />

point in the library and selected other buildings.<br />

2. The Visual Search Micr<strong>of</strong>ilm Films (VSMF) contain military specifications and standards<br />

and other materials.<br />

Bulletins<br />

New acquisitions are announced, approximately biweekly via e-mail. Look for “library” at<br />

your login.<br />

Copying Services<br />

A copy machine is available in Room 10 for the limited reproduction <strong>of</strong> noncirculating reference<br />

material (other use must be authorized by a supervisor).<br />

DREW UNIVERSITY LIBRARY<br />

Through a Memorandum <strong>of</strong> Understanding, <strong>Florida</strong> Tech graduate students are authorized to<br />

use all services <strong>of</strong> the Drew University Library in Madison, New Jersey. To withdraw books<br />

from the library, a fee <strong>of</strong> $25 annually is required, and a <strong>Florida</strong> Tech student identification<br />

card must be presented.<br />

Special borrower privileges extended to students are valid for one calendar year, at which<br />

time they may be renewed for another calendar year. There is a five-book limit.<br />

Students can obtain ID cards from <strong>Florida</strong> Tech’s Resident Office.<br />
