Many students enrolled in graduate degree programs take part in sponsored research programs<br />

and make significant contributions to project results. <strong>Florida</strong> Tech houses a number<br />

<strong>of</strong> research institutes and centers that, in collaboration with academic departments, aid in<br />

the students’ training.<br />

The <strong>university</strong> is organized into six academic units: the College <strong>of</strong> Aeronautics, College <strong>of</strong><br />

Engineering, College <strong>of</strong> Business, College <strong>of</strong> Psychology and Liberal Arts, College <strong>of</strong> Science<br />

and University College, which encompasses the <strong>Extended</strong> <strong>Studies</strong> Division.<br />

The College <strong>of</strong> Aeronautics <strong>of</strong>fers bachelor’s degrees in aeronautical science, aviation<br />

management, aviation meteorology (with flight options available in each program) and aviation<br />

computer science, and master’s degrees in airport development and management, applied<br />

aviation safety and aviation human factors.<br />

The College <strong>of</strong> Business <strong>of</strong>fers both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration,<br />

and bachelor’s degrees in accounting, business and environmental studies, information<br />

systems in business and management information systems. An accounting track in the M.B.A.<br />

program is <strong>of</strong>fered for individuals who have completed a four-year degree in accounting and<br />

require additional credits to be able to qualify for the CPA exam in <strong>Florida</strong>, or to receive<br />

reciprocal licensure in <strong>Florida</strong> from another state.<br />

College <strong>of</strong> Business students are prepared to compete in a global, technologically driven<br />

business environment by integrating personalized and applied business instruction into a<br />

focused, high-quality academic learning experience.<br />

The College <strong>of</strong> Engineering includes seven departments: chemical engineering, civil<br />

engineering, computer sciences, electrical and computer engineering, engineering systems,<br />

marine and environmental systems, and mechanical and aerospace engineering. Programs<br />

<strong>of</strong>fered in addition to those included in the department names are biological oceanography,<br />

chemical oceanography, coastal zone management, engineering management, environmental<br />

resource management, environmental science, geological oceanography, marine environmental<br />

science, meteorology, ocean engineering, physical oceanography, s<strong>of</strong>tware engineering and<br />

systems engineering.<br />

The College <strong>of</strong> Psychology and Liberal Arts includes the School <strong>of</strong> Psychology, Depart-<br />

ment <strong>of</strong> Humanities and Communication, the division <strong>of</strong> languages and linguistics, and military<br />

science (Army ROTC). <strong>Florida</strong> Tech <strong>of</strong>fers two- and four-year Army ROTC programs<br />

to interested, qualified students. Students may qualify for a reserve commission in the U.S.<br />

Army through normal completion <strong>of</strong> both the <strong>college</strong> basic and advanced cadet programs, or<br />

may enter directly into the advanced program after completing their basic program requirements<br />

before entering the <strong>university</strong>.<br />

The <strong>college</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers bachelor’s degrees in communication, humanities, psychology and forensic<br />

psychology, and master’s degrees in applied behavior analysis, industrial/organizational<br />

psychology, and technical and pr<strong>of</strong>essional communication. Doctoral degrees are awarded<br />

in clinical psychology and industrial/organizational psychology.<br />

The College <strong>of</strong> Science is comprised <strong>of</strong> the departments <strong>of</strong> biological sciences, chemistry,<br />

mathematical sciences, physics and space sciences, and science and mathematics education.<br />

Bachelor’s degrees are <strong>of</strong>fered in all <strong>of</strong> these areas and in biochemistry and interdisciplinary<br />

science. Master’s degrees are <strong>of</strong>fered in applied mathematics, biological sciences, chemistry,<br />
