UNIVERSITY ALLIANCE<br />
<strong>Florida</strong> Tech, in conjunction with its partner, University Alliance, <strong>of</strong>fers working adults the<br />
opportunity to earn a master’s degree anytime, at home, at work or while traveling. Online<br />
students are taught by <strong>Florida</strong> Tech pr<strong>of</strong>essors, and earn the same degree as campus students.<br />
The program <strong>of</strong>fers the flexibility to attend class when convenient, with no classroom attendance<br />
required, making it possible to pursue a degree while continuing to work.<br />
The Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Systems Management concentration in information systems is a<br />
comprehensive degree that merges management and technology. The MS/SM-IS is designed<br />
to help pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in technical information systems (IS) fields and those in other fields gain<br />
expertise in the management <strong>of</strong> information systems. The program consists <strong>of</strong> 11 required<br />
courses (33 hours). Sessions begin every eight weeks, allowing faster completion than in<br />
traditional programs.<br />
Through advanced Internet technology, students are immersed in a stimulating online learning<br />
environment that facilitates communication and collaboration among participants and<br />
faculty.<br />
Streaming Video Lectures<br />
Students watch and listen to <strong>university</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essors deliver course materials online or on CD.<br />
The video lectures are designed for viewing as many times as needed.<br />
Internet Message Boards<br />
Students are also given the opportunity to interact with faculty and classmates on key topics,<br />
class assignments and more through Internet message boards.<br />
Chat Rooms<br />
In online chat rooms, instructors host virtual <strong>of</strong>fice hours that allow students to collaborate<br />
in real-time with faculty and classmates.
