pace, and a choice <strong>of</strong> elective courses is available in most programs. <strong>Florida</strong> Tech<br />

is accredited by the Southern Association <strong>of</strong> Colleges and Schools, and degree program<br />

<strong>of</strong>ferings at the Patuxent site are approved by the Maryland Higher Education<br />

Commission (MHEC).<br />

• Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Engineering Management (MS/EM)<br />

• Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Management (MS/M)<br />

• Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Mechanical Engineering (MS/ME)<br />

These programs have been approved for payment <strong>of</strong> veterans’ benefits to qualified<br />

students under authority <strong>of</strong> Subchapter 1775, Chapter 36, Title 38, United States<br />

Code, Veterans’ Benefits.<br />

Support resources not always available in <strong>of</strong>f-campus programs are available at Patuxent.<br />

The Base Library with 130,000 items is a depository for government documents and<br />

a participant in the interlibrary loan system. <strong>Florida</strong> Tech’s students have access to<br />

computers in the student resource center and computer lab located outside <strong>of</strong> Gate 1<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.<br />

TUITION<br />

Tuition costs for courses conducted by <strong>Florida</strong> Tech for University College students<br />

will not normally exceed tuition charges at the Melbourne campus and may be less.<br />

The following charges are effective at Patuxent with the summer semester 2006.<br />

• Graduate course, Patuxent student: $455 per semester credit hour/$1,365 per<br />

3-credit course<br />

• Distance Learning, online course: $455 per semester credit hour, $1,365 per<br />

3-credit course<br />

• Graduate directed study, Patuxent student: $555 per semester credit hour/$1,665<br />

per 3-credit course<br />

• Graduate directed study, Melbourne student: $1,000 per semester credit hour/<br />

$3,000 per 3-credit course<br />

• Graduate course except Psychology Doctoral Program, Melbourne student: $900<br />

per semester credit hour/$2,700 per 3-credit course<br />

• Audited course: $225 per semester credit hour<br />

• Continuing Education Unit (noncredit): $225 per CEU<br />
