Gammon Receives Honour for Innovation and Creativity Gammon Construction has been honoured for its green treatment of marine mud technology at the annual 2012 Hong Kong Award for Industries organized by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, where it carried off the Innovation and Creativity Award. Gammon applied the environmentallyfriendly technology for the first time in Hong Kong at the Kai Tak public housing development project where it was used to transform approximately 12,000 cubic metres of marine mud, an amount equivalent to five standard Olympic-sized swimming pools, into backfilling material. Traditionally, marine mud had been treated as waste and dumped in landfills or marine dumping sites. The Gammon solution mixed the marine mud with premixed cement and in-situ granular, thus transforming it into a material which could be used to provide a solid building foundation, while also saving significant disposal JLT Retains Asia Pacific Title Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has retained its title of ‘Best Political Risk Insurance (PRI) Broker’ in the Asia Pacific region for the second year running in the annual awards determined by readers of Global Trade Review.
