MINDSET Goes to Singapore Zoo
Jardine Ambassadors in Singapore organized a MINDSET
Fun Day visit to Singapore Zoo.
A group of Jardine Ambassadors and volunteers
from Jardine Cycle & Carriage and Jardine Schindler
organized the event for a group of 60 beneficiaries and
accompanying staff from Simei Care Centre.
As well as enjoying viewing a variety of animals, the group
attended a show at the amphitheatre where they were
amazed by the tricks performed by a range of domestic
pets. Another highlight was the KFC lunch, which followed
the show.
Ambassadors Share Mid-Autumn Festive Joy
Some 50 Jardine Ambassadors celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival in
Hong Kong with over 90 service users from various mental health
agencies. At the gatherings which were held at Caritas Fanling
Hostel, Kwai Chung Hospital, Castle Peak Hospital MINDSET Club
and MINDSET Place, the participants played games and enjoyed
mooncakes donated by Maxim’s Group and fruit contributed by
Wellcome Hong Kong.
“As a new Jardine Ambassador, this was my first experience of
interacting with service users,” said Jimmy Choy of JEC. “They
behaved no differently from us and we all had a great time.”
Schools Embark on 2012-2014 Health in Mind Programme
Ten new schools have embarked
on the 2012-14 Health in Mind
Programme. Together with the nine
New Health in Mind Programme students gain self-confidence
through games at their orientation camp.
schools entering their second year of
the programme and the five schools
that have been involved for four
years, there are currently
24 participating schools.
The 2012-13 programme
began with a workshop
on Emotional
Management for
students of the nine
second-year schools
conducted by Kwai Chung
Hospital Senior Clinical
Psychologist Dr Raymond
Chan. During the session,
the students learnt about
the factors that affect a person’s
emotions and with this knowledge
how they might better control their
own emotional ‘ups and downs’.
A highlight of the workshop was
hearing firsthand from a woman
who had recovered from depression.
Meanwhile, the 147 students
from the ten schools new to the
programme participated in an
orientation camp held at Wu Kai
Sha Youth Village. Through various
adventurous games, the students
gained self-confidence and built
team spirit.
