General Conditions for publishing in Archivos de Oftalmología de Buenos Aires

A 100 word summary of the main message,
with the following development: Objective/
method, Results/Conclusions (or Clinical Case,
Discussion), first in English and then in Spanish,
both followed by the appropriate key words (see
instructions thereof in 3.8). Text, not exceeding
800 words, divided in the following sections: a)
Introduction, b) Clinical case/s, c) Discussion,
or a)Introduction, b) Surgical technique, c)
Discussion. Section a) Introduction is optional in
both cases. Five relevant bibliographical quotes
on separate page, and Figures (maximum 6
graphic reproduction units), avoiding tables or
reproductions thereof.
Bibliographical quotes as well as figures
must comply with the indications set out in the
«Original Articles» section.
• Iconographic section
Historical iconographic article with a
footnote not exceeding 300 words.
Advertisements of the Nineteenth Century
and early Twentieth century may be included
here.
• Event announcements
This section is for publishing
announcements for Congresses, symposiums,
courses, meetings, conferences and other
ophthalmologic events, submitted at least six
months in advance. Also, this section accepts
announcements for employment and specialised
training activities.
The announcement must be as short
as possible, and the Journal reserves the right to
summarise it as deemed necessary.
The request for publication of the
announcement must be made by the event
organiser, who will be responsible for the content
thereof.
• Comments on books, audiovisuals and
ophthalmology related websites
Archivos agrees to comment on
received ophthalmology books. Authors who
wish to see their books mentioned in the Journal
are kindly requested to deliver an original issue
to the Editor of Archivos, who will submit the
work to an appraiser who will provide an analysis
and comment, which will be published.
Archivos agrees to comment on
ophthalmology related websites belonging to

institutions, organisations, associations, scientific
societies, universities, journals, etc. upon their
reception. At the same time, comments received
for our section: «Comments on books and
audiovisuals», will be structured as follows:
1) Website identification: Website name
or title, author or editor, Universal Resource
Locator (URL), city and country of origin and
date of last update.
4) Other information: relevant contents or
features of website, i.e. access, whether free,
restricted or paid, languages, number of sections
in home page and links to other websites.
3) Comments: Text of any choice up to
00 words. As a guideline please consider;
a) contents, structure of home page, subject
matter and description, volume, quality and
current validity, writing style, focus and goals,
links (other websites, publications, search
engines, email), access to chat sites or online
forums; b) graphics, navigation menus, images,
sounds, videos, animations and their quality,
advertisements, announcements or events; c)
user friendly navigation, usability: interactivity
with user, clear and simple menus, navigation
symbols, downloading speed, accessibility for
the disabled (motor, learning, visual, audio),
target users (ophthalmologists, residents, other
specialists, members of our organisation, patients
or general public)
4) Author of comment and city.
• Personal news
These consist in the publication of
changes in administration circles, academic
changes, honours, etc. related to ophthalmology.
Items for this section must be sent by the
person involved or with his/her acceptance, to
the Editor of Archivos, who shall consider the
publication thereof.
