could be abusive in feature films or a documentary- to
a cartographical bases that allows the expanding of
aesthetic values of a culture, thanks to the traces of
the route that is only possible in the travelling; and this
recalls that special satisfaction that Italo Calvino spoke of
the route of literature as a necessity that hasn’t had the
same fate and that appears sporadically in the figurative
arts.
“The need of summarizing in an image the dimension
of time along with that of space is what gives origin to
cartography. Time is history of the past (…) and the time
towards future: like the presence of some obstacles
we encounter in the quest and there’s when the
atmospherically time heals with the chronological time”. 34
La oreja de Morazán achieves its goal of joining the
atmospherically time with chronological time using
symbolic resources. The artist has used a cartographic
strategy that we have seen since mankind’s origin,
allowing the travelling in Ochoa’s works to acquire the
anthropological and aesthetic values and this helps us to
trace new cartographies of the popular cosmovision of
the population of the isthmus.
