160 APÉNDICE B NOTAS SA AKING MGA KABATA Rizal escribió esta poesía en su pueblo natal, Calamba en 1869. Nótese como habla un niño de ocho (8) años, de hayan (pueblo), de kalayaan (libertad), de que ang salita'y isang kahatulan sa hayan (por su lengua son juzgados los pueblos), de que ang salita nati'y . . . nawala'y dinatnan ng sigwá (nuestra lengua . . . naufragó por monzón desencadenado). FELICITACIÓN Esta poesía se escribió el año 1875 cuando Rizal tenía sólo 14 años y era estudiante interno del Ateneo Municipal de Manila, dedicada al Sr. Antonino López, esposo de Doña Narcisa Rizal, con ocasión del cumpleaños de éste. La escribió Rizal como si fuera felicitación de sus hermanas. El manuscrito de esta poesía se quemó durante la liberación de Manila en 1945, en poder del Dr. Leoncio López Rizal. Poesías de Rizal editado por Jaime C. de Veyra, lleva una reproducción de este trabajo en la página 3. AL NIÑO JESÚS Poesía fechada en Manila el 14 de Noviembre, sin expresar el año, según D. Mariano Ponce. Retana cree que fué de la época en que Rizal estudiaba la segunda enseñanza en el Ateneo Municipal de Manila, 1874-1875. El manuscrito original se quemó en 1945 en poder de Don Leoncio Lopez-Rizal. Una reproducción aparece en la página quinta de las Poesías de Rizal, editado por D. Jaime C. de Veyra. EL EMBARQUE (Himno a la flota de Magallanes) El Sr. R. Guerrero, según D. Wenceslao E. Retana, con referencia a las noticias que le fueron comunicadas por el Padre Francisco de P. Sánchez, profesor que fué de Rizal en el Ateneo Municipal de Manila, dice que esta poesía la fechó el autor el 5 de Diciembre de 1875. Pero según los Sres. Vicente Elio y Mariano Ponce, fué escrita en 1874. Se publicó por primera vez en La Patria, de Manila, el 30 de Diciembre de 1899. Se publicó también en: 1. Día Filipino, 19 Junio 1921, p. 48. 2.
