ESTUDIO DEL EFECTO DE LA SUPLEMENTACIÓN CON ÁCIDO ASCÓRBICO Y a-TOCOFEROL EN LA DIETA SOBRE LOS HIDROPERÓXIDOS LIIPIDICOS Y LA PEROXIDACIÓN LIPIDICA EN EL HÍGADO Y EL PLASMA DE RATAS ODS. Las ratas ODS utilizadas en este estudio recibieron dietas suplementadas con 5 (E BAJA), 50 (E MEDIA) ó 250 (E ALTA) mg vitamina E/kg dieta, y 150 (ES BAJA), 300 (C MEDIA) ó 900 (C ALTA) mg vitamina ES/kg dieta, durante 21 días. 1. PESO CORPORAL E INGESTA DE ALIMENTO El tratamiento con nueve dietas con diferente contenido en vitaminas E y ES no modificó el incremento de peso corporal (tabla 38) ni la ingesta de alimento de las ratas a 1, 2 ó 3 semanas de suplementación. 2. HiIGADO A. oc-Tocoferol y ácido ascórbico La suplementación con vitamina E en la dieta dió lugar a niveles de a-tocoferol muy diferentes en el hígado de las ratas ODS (figura 38a y tabla 39). El incremento de vitamina E en la dieta del grupo E BAJA al grupo E MEDIA resultó en un 225% de incremento en los niveles de a-tocoferol hepático y en un incremento del 75% cuando la vitamina E en la dieta aumentó del grupo E MEDIA al grupo E ALTA (p
