La utilización de mezclas asfálticas de alto modulo además
de soportar el tráfi co estimado más efi cazmente, supusieron
un ahorro del orden del 20% de áridos de machaqueo.
La solución del túnel artifi cial de Benchaoua evitó los importantes
desmontes de la solución contemplada en el an-
teproyecto, las expropiaciones de
viviendas, los realojos necesarios
para la población afectada y un importante
incremento de los plazos
de ejecución.
El cliente también ha aportado mejoras
importantes. Desde el p.k.
25+000 al p.k. 49+000 -intersección

cada sentido y se ha sustituido la

autovías, la nuestra y la Este-Oeste. Se ahorra, de esta manera,
la ejecución de un tramo de la Este-Oeste, que estaba
previsto algo más al norte de la Rocade y sensiblemente
paralela a la misma.
El trazado se ha modifi cado en la zona de la ciudad de
Krahicia para evitar la expropiación de unas 80 viviendas, y
se ha canalizado el río del mismo nombre porque la variante
ha ocupado la zona de meandros del río.
Se ha bajado la rasante en el valle de la Mitidja, zona eminentemente
agrícola que queda atravesada por la Rocade,
para reducir los importantes volúmenes de terraplén de
préstamos previstos, con distancias de transporte considerables.
