[Estenosis aórtica: Implante <strong>de</strong> prótesis v<strong>al</strong>vular aórtica transcatéter (TAVI) en el adulto mayor - Dr. Carlos Caorsi S. Y COL.]<br />

Esta es la primera vez en la historia <strong>de</strong> la cardiología intervencion<strong>al</strong> en<br />

que <strong>un</strong> dispositivo se prueba en los pacientes más complejos, es <strong>de</strong>cir<br />

los <strong>de</strong>scartados para cirugía por su <strong>al</strong>to riesgo. De ahí se <strong>de</strong>riva el hecho<br />

que los resultados favorables hayan impactado tan fuertemente en la<br />

com<strong>un</strong>idad cardiológica m<strong>un</strong>di<strong>al</strong> produciendo <strong>un</strong> cambio en la forma<br />

<strong>de</strong> ev<strong>al</strong>uar estos pacientes y haciendo que progresivamente revisemos<br />

dogmas que parecían establecidos.<br />
