THE <strong>CIA</strong> AGAINST LATIN AMERICAA NECESSARY GUIDEThe Present volume, which appears as Notebook No. 2 of the HistoricalArchive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, refersto the activities of the <strong>CIA</strong> (United States Central Intelligence Agency) in<strong>Ecuador</strong> and other countries, mainly in <strong>La</strong>tin <strong>America</strong> and The Caribbean.Notebook No. 1 was titled “Eloy Alfaro, líder de Nuestra América”(Eloy Alfaro, leader of Our <strong>America</strong>). It was published in October of 2013and circulated successfully inside and out of the country within a voluminousedition of 25,000 copies for free distribution which was promotedin several national and international scale acts. It was the decision andcontinental vision of Chancellor Ricardo Patiño Aroca which allowed theexistence of this broad reaching work.Notebook No. 2, which will circulate in the same way with 30,000copies, is composed of three parts, all related to the complaints andthoughts of Philip Agee, the famous ex <strong>CIA</strong> operative who died in <strong>La</strong>Habana on January 7 th 2008 at 73 years of age. These are materials whichmaintain invaluable current relevance and freshness despite the passageof the years, turning them in true tools of investigation and work for therevolutionaries of today.The three parts mentioned are the following: First: Interview withPhilip Agee in London, 1975, carried out by Jaime Galarza Zavala, <strong>Ecuador</strong>ianwriter –Second: Speech by Philip Agee at the Tribunal Antiimperialistade Nuestra América (Anti-imperialist Court of Our <strong>America</strong>),Managua, October of 1983. –Third: Philip Agee, the man that “twisted”13
