THE CIA AGAINST LATIN AMERICAspeaking. But in the 70’s, among the American political classspecially among external politics, occurred what they termed as NewThought, and this was the time of terrible dictatorships in the SouthernCone, in Brazil, in Middle America. And the new consensus of opinionsof those people was that perhaps these repressive regimes were not thebest way to preserve US interests, and democracy should be promoted,and this led to several stages.
