El Aguila Enero/January 13 - Febrero/February 16, 2016 IMPUESTOS Y FINANZAS/TAX & FINANCE
El 19 de enero inicia la temporada de impuestos del 2016
para los contribuyentes de la nación
WASHINGTON ― Tras
la revisión de la legislación
de extensiones tributarias
que fuera firmada como
ley recientemente, el Servicio de
Impuestos Internos (IRS) anunció
que la temporada de impuestos
nacional comenzará el martes,
19 de enero de 2016, como
fuera previsto.
El IRS comenzará a aceptar declaraciones
electrónicas individuales
ese día. El IRS espera
recibir más de 150 millones declaraciones
individuales en el
2016, con más de cuatro de cada
cinco de ellas siendo preparadas
y presentadas electrónicamente
usando programación de preparación
de impuestos.
El IRS comenzará a procesar
declaraciones de impuestos impresas
al mismo tiempo. Las personas
no obtienen ninguna ventaja
al presentar declaraciones de
impuestos en papel a principios
de enero en lugar de esperar que
se dé inicio a la presentación
electrónica o e-file. “Esperamos
abrir la temporada de impuestos
de 2016 a tiempo”, dijo el Comisionado
del IRS John Koskinen.
“Nuestros empleados han trabajado
duro durante todo este año
para que esto suceda. También
apreciamos la ayuda de profesionales
de impuestos de la nación y
la comunidad del software, pues
son esenciales proporcionando
ayuda a los contribuyentes durante
la temporada de impuestos”.
Como parte de la iniciativa de la
Cumbre de seguridad, el IRS ha
estado trabajando estrechamente
con la industria tributaria y las
agencias estatales de impuestos
para proporcionar a los contribuyentes
mayor protección contra
el robo de identidad durante la
próxima temporada de impuestos.
El plazo para declarar impuestos
del 2015 es el lunes, 18
de abril de 2016, en lugar de la
tradicional fecha del 15 de abril.
Washington, D.C., celebrará el
día de la emancipación ese viernes,
lo cual empuja la fecha límite
para el lunes 18 para la mayoría
en la nación. (Debido al Día
de los Patriotas, en Maine y Massachusetts
el plazo de esos estados
será el martes, 19 de abril).
WASHINGTON ― Following
a review of the
tax extenders legislation
signed into law last week,
the Internal Revenue Service announced
today that the nation’s
tax season will begin as scheduled
on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016.
The IRS will begin accepting individual
electronic returns that
day. The IRS expects to receive
more than 150 million individual
returns in 2016, with more than
four out of five being prepared
using tax return preparation software
and e-filed. The IRS will
begin processing paper tax returns
at the same time. There is
no advantage to people filing tax
returns on paper in early January
instead of waiting for e-file to
begin.
“We look forward to opening the
2016 tax season on time,” IRS
Commissioner John Koskinen
said. “Our employees have been
working hard throughout this
year to make this happen. We
also appreciate the help from the
nation’s tax professionals and
the software community, who
are critical to helping taxpayers
Koskinen señaló que la nueva
legislación hace permanentes
muchas disposiciones y extiende
dijo Koskinen. Aunque el IRS comienza
a aceptar declaraciones el
19 de enero, muchas compañías
de programación tributaria comenzarán
a preparar las declaraciones
de impuestos en enero para luego
presentarlas al IRS cuando los
sistemas de procesamiento estén
abiertos.
Elegir la presentación electrónica o
e-file y el depósito directo para los
during the filing season.” As part
of the Security Summit initiative,
the IRS has been working
closely with the tax industry and
state revenue departments to provide
stronger protections against
identity theft for taxpayers during
the coming filing season.
The filing deadline to submit 2015
tax returns is Monday, April 18,
2016, rather than the traditional
April 15 date. Washington, D.C.,
will celebrate Emancipation Day
on that Friday, which pushes the
deadline to the following Monday
for most of the nation. (Due
to Patriots Day, the deadline will
be Tuesday, April 19, in Maine
and Massachusetts.)
Koskinen noted the new legislation
makes permanent many provisions
and extends many others
for several years. “This provides
certainty for planning purposes,
which will help taxpayers and
the tax community as well as the
IRS,” he said.
The IRS urges all taxpayers to
make sure they have all their
year-end statements in hand before
filing, including Forms W-2
reembolsos sigue siendo la manera
más rápida y más segura de presentar
una declaración de impuestos
precisa y recibir un reembolso. El
IRS anticipa emitir más de nueve
de cada 10 reembolsos en menos
de 21 días. Vea opciones gratis
