Minería Mining
La minería sigue siendo el sector productivo
más importante y estratégico de Chile. Los
mayores desafíos a mediano y largo plazo se
dan por la necesidad de mejorar la
productividad, el desempeño ambiental y el
uso de recursos esenciales como el agua y la
energía.
Por otro lado, la extracción pasará cada vez
más a minería subterránea, ya que los
yacimientos más importantes se sitúan hacia
el centro del país.
En estas condiciones de mayor concentración,
será fundamental involucrar a las
comunidades y diferentes grupos de interés
de manera participativa desde las etapas más
tempranas de cada proyecto.
Mining remains the most important and
strategic production sector in Chile. The
biggest challenges in the medium and long
term are improving productivity, the
environmental performance and the use of
natural resources like water and energy.
On the other hand, extraction tends towards
underground mining due to the fact that the
important mining deposits are located in the
center of the country.
Given these conditions of higher
concentration, it will be crucial to involve local
communities and stakeholders from the
earliest stages of each project.
