USER’S MANUAL. <strong>TV</strong> <strong>EXPLORER</strong> HD +3 INSTALLATION3.1 Power SupplyThe <strong>TV</strong> <strong>EXPLORER</strong> HD + is a portable instrument powered by one 7.2 V Li-Ionbattery. There is also an external DC charger provided for mains connection and batterycharging.3.1.1 Operation using the External DC ChargerConnect the external DC charger to EXT. SUPPLY [32] on the<strong>TV</strong> <strong>EXPLORER</strong> HD + side panel. Connect the DC charger to the mains. Then, press therotary selector [1] for more than two seconds. The level meter is now in operationand the battery is slowly charged. When the instrument is connected to the mains, theCHARGER indicator [4] remains lit. This indicator changes of colour according to thebattery charge status:BATTERY CHARGE STATUSOFFONRED < 50 % < 90 %ORANGE > 50 % > 90 %GREEN 100 % 100 %EnglishTable 1.- Indication of the battery charge status (CHARGER).3.1.2 Operation using the BatteryFor the device to operate on the battery, disconnect the power cable and press therotary selector [1] for more than two seconds. The fully charged battery can power theequipment for more than 4.5 hours non-stop.If battery is very weak, the battery cut-off circuit will prevent the device fromfunctioning. In such a situation battery must be recharged immediately.Before taking any measurements, you have to check the charge status of thebattery by checking the battery charge level indicator that appears when activating themeasurement mode pressing key[12].
