Satellite band.The calibration process must be carried out over the point of the installation whichis taken as reference, i.e. usually the headend. During this process is determined thenumber of pilot frequencies to check, from one to three, in addition to the reference levelfor pilots. In order to determine the number of pilots, the equipment takes the higherfound level and verifies that the other pilots have a non lower level to the reference oneplus the defined threshold level. If the pilot agrees this condition it will show on screen.The user can also define the pilot frequencies:Press the key [17] to show on screen the CONFIGURATION menu of themeasure. The PILOTS function allows you to set pilot signals <strong>manual</strong>ly. To do this, usingEnglishthe rotary selector [1] select that function and change it to MANUAL. You will see amenu where you can set the frequency of each of the 3 pilot signals. If you want to returnto the automatic generation of pilot signals, change back PILOTS function to AUTO.2.- MEASUREMENT OF THREE PILOTS THROUGHOUT THE NETWORKOnce <strong>TV</strong> <strong>EXPLORER</strong> HD + has been calibrated, start to make levelmeasurements in the different distribution outlets using the <strong>TV</strong> <strong>EXPLORER</strong> HD +. Onthe screen will appear the attenuation values for the three pilot frequenciesmeasured in the outlet plate (see the following figure).01/2011 Page 39
