USER’S MANUAL. <strong>TV</strong> <strong>EXPLORER</strong> HD +5.4 Channel Tuning / Frequency TuningPressing [24] key the <strong>EXPLORER</strong> switches from frequency tuning to channeltuning and back again.In channel tuning mode turning the rotary selector [1] sequentially tunes thechannels defined in the active channels table. When turning it clockwise frequencyincreases while turning it anticlockwise frequency decreases.In frequency tuning mode there are two ways of tuning:1. Turning the rotary selector [1].Turning the rotary selector [1] selects the desired frequency (tuning iscontinuous from 5 to 1000 MHz and from 950 to 2150 MHz). When turning itclockwise frequency increases while turning it anticlockwise frequencydecreases.2. Using the keyboard.Press the rotary selector [1] (the frequency listing will disappear and willappear on the upper left corner of screen the keyboard symbol of <strong>manual</strong> dataentry ), next enter the frequency value in MHz using the numerickeyboard. The <strong>TV</strong> <strong>EXPLORER</strong> HD + will calculate the tuneable frequencyclosest to the entered value and then display it on-screen.5.5 Automatic Transmission SearchHolding pressed the [25] key search starts over the active channel plan. Whentuning a channel the instrument tries to identify it and save it with the configuration. If theidentification is not possible the channel is removed from list. As a result obtains a newchannel plan that only contains the channels that have been identified.5.6 Selecting the measurement configuration: Analogue/ Digital signalMeasuring the characteristics of a channel depends, in the first place, on the typeof modulation: analogue or digital.Page 30 01/2011
