Le superbe musée designé par le célèbre architecte méditerranéen
Rudy Ricciotti possède aujourd’hui 2400 pièces de Cocteau et de
ses proches léguées par le collectionneur américain d’origine belge
Séverin Wunderman. C’est la première ressource publique mondiale
d’œuvres de Cocteau. « Démarches d’un poète » (Acte II) est un parcours
poétique, hommage aux rapports de Jean Cocteau avec le théâtre dont
il rêve dès sa prime jeunesse. « Depuis l’enfance et les départs de ma
mère et de mon père pour le théâtre, j’ai contracté le mal rouge et or »,
écrivait-il. Cocteau a légué à la création scénique un nouveau courant
artistique : le surréalisme, sans frontière entre le réel et l’imaginaire. De
« La Voix Humaine » au succès des « Parents terribles » à Broadway dans
les années 1990, les pièces de Cocteau resteront des textes
incontournables de l’univers théâtral. Au rez-de-chaussée du musée,
découvrez l’exposition consacrée à Valerio ADAMI, artiste italien majeur
de la Figuration Narrative qui présente une centaine de ses œuvres. Des
grandes toiles inspirées des thèmes littéraires ou philosophiques, des
dessins vigoureux soulignés d’un trait noir aux couleurs plates, ses
créations sont uniques.
The superb museum designed by the famous Mediterranean architect
Rudy Ricciotti now owns 2,400 works by Cocteau and his closest
friends, donated by Séverin Wunderman, an American collector
originally from Belgium. It is the largest publicly owned collection of
Cocteau's works in the world. "Démarches d’un poète - Acte II" consists
of a poetic exhibit paying tribute to the artist's ties with the theatre, about
which he had dreamed since he was very young. "Since my childhood
and my mother and father setting off for the theatre, I have always been
obsessed with crimson and gold," he wrote. Cocteau bequeathed a new
artistic current to stage productions: Surrealism, with no frontier
between reality and dreams. From "La Voix Humaine" to the success of
"Parents terribles" on Broadway in the 1990's, Cocteau's plays will
remain essential texts in the theatrical world. On the ground floor in
the museum, visitors will discover an exhibition devoted to Valerio
ADAMI, a major Italian artist in Narrative Figuration, presenting about
100 of his works. Consisting of large canvases inspired by literary or
philosophical themes, powerful drawings emphasized by black lines on
flat expanses of colour, his creations are unique.
