La spiruline est une microalgue bleue<br />
(cyanobactéries) qui doit son nom à<br />
sa forme spiralée. Trente-six sur 1500<br />
espèces de spiruline sont comestibles.<br />
Toutefois, la Spirulina platensis est la<br />
plus commercialisée sous forme de<br />
poudre ou de capsule.<br />

Spirulina is a blue-green microalgae<br />
(cyanobacteria) that gets its name<br />
from its spiral shape. Thirty-six out<br />
of 1500 species of spirulina are<br />
edible. However, Spirulina platensis<br />
is the most marketed as a powder or<br />
capsule.<br />

Dans la région du Vakinankaratra, le<br />
groupement de femmes FITIA (Fiombonan’ny<br />
tetikasa ivoaran’ny vehivavy) fait la promotion<br />
de ce « super aliment » riche en nutriments<br />
auprès des enfants. Le produit baptisé Faruline<br />
est composé d’un savant mélange de céréales, de<br />
cacahuètes et de spiruline dont l’objectif est de lutter<br />
contre la malnutrition infantile à Madagascar.<br />
Ce projet pilote est soutenu par l’association Aide<br />
pour le Développement Durable (ADD) et la fondation<br />
à vocation communautaire Tany Meva. Depuis<br />
l’opérationnalisation du bassin de production en avril<br />
<strong>2019</strong>, la Faruline est distribuée à la cantine de l’Ecole<br />
Primaire Publique de Mahazoarivo Antsirabe.<br />
In the Vakinankaratra region, the FITIA<br />
women's group (Fiombonan'ny tetikasa<br />
ivoaran'ny vehivavy) promotes this nutrientrich<br />
super food to children. The product<br />
called Faruline is composed of a clever blend of<br />
cereals, peanuts and spirulina in order to fight<br />
against child malnutrition in Madagascar.<br />
This pilot project is supported by the<br />
association Aid for Sustainable Development<br />
(ADD) and the community-oriented Tany Meva<br />
Foundation. Since the production basin was<br />
operationalised in April <strong>2019</strong>, Faruline have<br />
been distributed to the canteen of the Public<br />
Primary School in Mahazoarivo Antsirabe.<br />
