Das Unternehmen CSN Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) ist eines der größten Industrieunternehmen in Lateinamerika. Als Pionier in der Stahlherstellung in Brasilien, ist das Unternehmen gegenwärtig in fünf Bereichen tätig: Stahl, Bergbau, Logistik, Energie und Zement. Es ist in 12 brasilianischen Bundesstaaten angesiedelt und hat zwei Tochtergesellschaften im Ausland: eine in den USA und eine in Portugal. Einer der wichtigsten Wettbewerbsvorteile von CSN ist das integrierte Geschäftsmodell und eine Selbstversorgung bei fast allen relevanten Rohstoffen der Stahlerzeugung: der Bergbaubetrieb des Unternehmens versorgt das Stahlgeschäft mit qualitativ hochwertigem Eisenerz. Der Zement-Betrieb verwendet Schlacke, die als Nebenprodukt bei der Stahlherstellung anfällt, sowie Kalkstein aus der Arcos Mine. Diese drei Segmente werden durch die wirtschaftliche Unabhängigkeit bei der Energieerzeugung begünstigt: das Unternehmen verfügt über ein eigenes Wärmekraftwerk und Anteile an zwei Wasserkraftwerken. A pioneer in steel manufacturing in Brazil, the company currently operates in five areas: Steel, Mining, Logistics, Energy and Cement. It is present in 12 Brazilian states, and has two overseas subsidiaries, one in the United States and one in Portugal. One of the major competitive differentials of CSN is its integrated business model and self-sufficiency in practically all relevant raw materials for steel production: the Company’s mining operation provides high quality iron ore for the steel business, while the cement operation uses slag generated as a by-product in steel production and limestone from the Company’s reserves in the Arcos mine. These three segments are supported by self-sufficiency in energy generation, with the Company´s own thermal power plant and participation in two hydroelectric plants, and a developed logistics network which includes railways and ports. Ce géant de la sidérurgie affichait en 2010 un résultat net de 6,2 milliards d’euros, réalisé avec un effectif de 20 000 personnes. Véritable pionnier de la métallurgie au Brésil, le groupe compte désormais cinq domaines d’activité : l’acier, l’exploitation minière, la logistique, l’énergie et le ciment. Implanté dans 12 états brésiliens, il dispose également de deux filiales outre-mer, l’une aux Etats-Unis et l’autre au Portugal. L’un des plus grands avantages concurrentiels de CSN réside dans son modèle d’entreprise intégré et son fonctionnement autarcique pour pratiquement toutes les matières premières importantes dans la production de l’acier : les activités d’exploitation minière du groupe alimentent les activités acier en minerai de fer de grande qualité tandis que les activités dans le ciment utilisent les scories, un sous-produit issu de la production de l’acier ainsi que du calcaire provenant des réserves du groupe dans les mines d’Arcos. Ces trois segments fonctionnent également en mode autarcique par rapport à la génération d’énergie électrique, en s’appuyant sur la propre centrale thermique du groupe et des participations dans deux usines hydroélectriques. Ils bénéficient par ailleurs d’un vaste réseau logistique avec des activités ferroviaires et portuaires.
CSN verwaltet zwei Hafenterminals: einen Schüttgut-Terminal und einen Containerterminal, beide in Itaguaí Port, im Bundesstaat Rio de Janeiro. Weiterhin besitzt das Unternehmen Beteiligungen an zwei Bahngesellschaften: 33,27% der MRS Logistica, welche die Anlagen des Unternehmens im Südosten von Brasilien verbindet, und Transnordestina Logística S/A, zuständig für den Bau der Transnordestina Bahn, die 1728 km umfassen und Eliseu Martins (Piaui) mit den Häfen von Suape (Pernambuco) und Pecém (Ceará) verbinden wird. CSN manages two port terminals: a bulk solids terminal and a container terminal, both in Itaguaí Port, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The Company also has equity stakes in two railway companies, 33.27% in MRS Logística, which connects the Company’s assets located in the southeast of Brazil, and Transnordestina Logística S/A, in charge of the construction of Transnordestina railway, which will have 1,728 km of track and connect Eliseu Martins (Piaui) to the Ports of Suape (Pernambuco) and Pecém (Ceará). www.csn.com.br STAHLWERK THÜRINGEN CSN gère deux terminaux portuaires : l’un dédié aux matières solides en vrac et l’autre aux containers, tous deux dans le port d’Itaguaí, dans l’état de Rio de Janeiro. Le groupe détient également des parts dans deux compagnies ferroviaires : 33,27 % dans MRS Logística qui permet de relier les actifs du groupe au sud-est du Brésil, et Transnordestina Logística S/A, chargée de la construction du projet ferroviaire Transnordestina qui comptera 1728 km de voies ferrées et doit relier Eliseu Martins (Piaui) aux ports de Suape (Pernambuco) et Pecém (Ceará). 5
