Enlightenment was a definite direction of philosophical thought. Thebackground of the Enlightenment philosophy was the negation of that time traditionand scholastics, struggle against superstition and prejudice, belief in the power ofhuman mind and the idea of justice. With these characteristic features ofEnlightenment in mind, the origins of the Georgian Enlightenment philosophyshould be traced from Sulkhan Saba Orbeliani’s philosophical-aesthetic views.
