Let us take the sculptural quality of a fitting as the starting point for bathroom
architecture. How would that turn out? Very well. And completely
new. The bathroom as an island in a room, where all of the functions and
zones are drawn together. An architecture, which becomes a solitary item
itself, and in so doing reflects the progressive design of the fitting with its
reflecting and precisely angled surfaces. At the same time, the fittings’ surfaces
continually reflect the island’s various water zones afresh.
Supernova is the term used to describe the flash of extreme brightness a star
displays as it explodes. Its brightness increases by a factor of between millions
and billions, and it produces the same amount of light as an entire galaxy. With
the name SUPERNOVA, Dornbracht evokes that brightness which with the
fittings can be seen in the fascinating interplay of light and refraction. It seems
as though the fitting reflects the idea behind the architecture just as much as
the architecture reflects the idea behind the fitting. With no specifically defined
space, the bathroom turns into a sculpture to be experienced on foot,
demarcated from the surrounding room by its surfaces and materials. An element
of lifestyle furniture, which can be positioned anywhere within the
room. In a loft apartment, just as in a palace. The staging possibilities for the
world of SUPERNOVA (from page 026 onwards) are accordingly versatile.
The fitting represents a very sophisticated, progressive new design, which is
emphasized by the striking geometry of the spout and the control elements.
The slight forward tilting generates a sense of dynamism. The fitting’s facets,
which play with light and its refraction properties and absorb the light reflection
from the water, are a consistent design feature of this series – continued
even in the design of its accessories. In order to highlight this clear-cut design,
SUPERNOVA is available exclusively in high-gloss surface finishes: chrome,
platinum and, for the first time, the light golden “Champagne” surface finish,
which has been developed especially for SUPERNOVA. An elaborate process
is required for the 22 carat gold finish. SUPERNOVA is not alone in this: in
interior design and other aspects of lifestyle, gold as a colour and as an exquisite
material is currently enjoying an exciting renaissance. Champagne is to
bring a bit of this glamour trend into the bathroom.
With SUPERNOVA Dornbracht is therefore continuing the consistent line of
design innovation of the last two decades.
La qualità scultorea di una rubinetteria come punto di partenza dell’architettura
per il bagno. Come può andare a finire? Molto bene. E in modo del
tutto innovativo. Il bagno come isola nella stanza, il quale posiziona in sé
tutte le funzioni e tutte le zone. Un’architettura che diventa essa stessa un
solitario e contemporaneamente, nelle superfici riflettenti e nelle inclinazioni
precise, rispecchia il design progressivo della rubinetteria. Al tempo
stesso le superfici delle rubinetterie riflettono in modo sempre nuovo le
varie zone d’acqua dell’isola.
Una Supernova è lo sfavillio rapido ed estremamente luminoso di una
stella nella sua esplosione. La sua luminosità aumenta alla milionesima e alla
miliardesima potenza conferendole il chiarore di un’intera galassia. Con il
nome SUPERNOVA, Dornbracht cita questo scintillio che appare sulle rubinetterie
nel gioco affascinante della luce e delle sue rifrazioni. Sembra che la
rubinetteria rispecchi l’idea di architettura allo stesso modo in cui l’architettura
riflette l’idea di rubinetteria. Senza definizione di spazio, il bagno diventa
scultura percorribile e da vivere che si delimita dall’ambiente circostante
solo mediante superfici e materiali. Un mobile lifestyle da posizionare liberamente
nella stanza. In un loft come in un palazzo. Altrettanto molteplici
sono le possibilità di messa in scena per il mondo di SUPERNOVA (da
pagina 026).
La rubinetteria rappresenta un nuovo design progressivo, molto raffinato che
è sottolineato dalla geometria marcata della bocca di erogazione e degli elementi
di comando. Una leggera inclinazione in avanti crea dinamismo.
Le sfaccettature della rubinetteria, le quali giocano con la luce e le sue rifrazioni
e assorbono i riflessi luminosi dall’acqua, si estendono come segno distintivo
di design su tutta la serie completa – fino alla forma degli accessori.
Per sottolineare la precisione della struttura, SUPERNOVA è disponibile solo
in superfici lucidissime: cromo, platino e, per la prima volta, nella versione
“champagne”, delicatamente dorata, creata appositamente per SUPERNOVA.
La lavorazione in oro a 22 carati si svolge in parecchie fasi di lavoro accurate.
