ACQUA, FUOCO, TERRA,
I temi dell’acqua e del fuoco giungono dopo quello
degli alberi. All’inizio della ricerca sull’acqua, dopo
un breve periodo coloristico impostato sui verdi e sui
blu, decisi un giorno di eseguire uno specchio d’acqua
coi toni rossi, come visione di un limo dalle tonalità
infuocate. Quel rosso fiammeggiante colpì a tal
punto la mia immaginazione che mi portò a fare altri
soggetti dedicati alla sopravvivenza degli alberi. Decisi
a quel punto di dedicare la mia scelta coloristica
a quell’elemento naturale affascinante che è il fuoco.
Penso che quell’idea abbia rivoluzionato il mio futuro,
tanto che mi suggerì l’accostamento successivo
dell’altro elemento: la terra. Ecco così riuniti tre elementi
essenziali per la nostra sopravvivenza. Tre come
il numero perfetto, come il mistero della Trinità che
ha creato l’universo. Ed eccomi così giunto all’idea
del cosmo che, per me, è idealmente legato all’idea
dell’aria, ossia l’ultimo dei classici “quattro elementi”.
E con questo ultimo elemento chiuderò l’ultima parte
della mia ricerca artistica, ormai giunta al termine,
così come la mia vita. E con l’aiuto della Provvidenza,
che non mi ha mai abbandonato, spero di riuscire a
portare a termine in tempo questo mio progetto tanto
entusiasmante quanto difficile da realizzare. Penso ora
a grandi tele, a vasti spazi da riempire con la creatività
e le energie che mi sono rimaste.
WATER, FIRE, EARTH
The themes of water and fire came after the tree
one. At the beginning of my research on water,
after a short colouristic period based on greens and
blues, I decided to work on a water mirror with
blazing red colours, like a lime with such shades.
That bright red had really impressed me, making
me think of depicting other subjects concerning
the survival of trees. At that point, I decided to
dedicate my colouristic choice to that fascinating
element that is fire. In my opinion, this choice has
revolutionised my future, suggesting me the combination
with another element: earth. And now
we have the three vital elements to our existence.
They are three like the perfect number, like the
Mystery of the Trinity which has created the universe.
Then I came up with the idea of the Cosmos,
which I think is connected to the idea of air, the
last element of the classic four. With this detail I
end the last part of my artistic research, that is
now coming to an end, like my life. With the help
of God that never abandons me, I hope I’ll be able
to end this exciting yet difficult project. Now I’m
thinking of big canvases, vast spaces to fill up with
the creativity and energy I have left, almost with
a huge effort, despite the narrowness of the technique
and material I can use.
