Be) Lid (depending on model)Handle the lid carefully, especially during operation. Do not leanover the basef) Checking for gas leaks1) Work outside, away from all sources of ignition. Do notsmoke.2) Make sure the control knobs are in the "off" (l) position.3) Push the end of the hose completely onto the regulatornozzle and secure with a suitable clip.4) Fit the regulator onto the gas cylinder in accordance withits instructions.5) Use a gas leak solution to test for leaks. Important: neveruse a naked flame to check for gas leaks.6) Apply the solution to the connections cylinder/regulator/hose/apparatus (the control knobs should remain closed: offposition). Open the gas cylinder valve.7) Bubbles in the gas leak solution indicate that there are gasleaks.8) <strong>The</strong> leak can be stopped by tightening any hose connectionor replacing any faulty component. <strong>The</strong> barbecue must notbe used until the leak is stopped.9) Close the valve on the gas cylinder. Check for leaks at leastonce per year and each time the gas cylinder is replaced.g) Prior to useNever use the barbecue until the instructions have been readcarefully and understood. Also, make certain that:- there are no leaks- the venturi tubes are not blocked- the hose does not touch any components which may get hot.- that the ventilation openings in the gas receptacle housing arenot obstructed, if appropriate.Check that the venturi tubes (VT) coverthe injectors (IJ).h) Lighting the grill burnerQ If your apparatus has 2 control knobsRead steps 1 to 7 before beginning with step 1.1) Never light the barbecue with the lid closed, onlywith the lid open.2) Make sure the 2 control knobs are in the "off" (l) position.3) Push the end of the hose completely onto the regulatornozzle and secure with a suitable clip. Fit the regulator ontothe gas cylinder in accordance with its instructions.4) Open the gas cylinder valve.5) Press one of the 2 control knobs and turn it to the fullflame ( ) position, then immediately press the igniterbutton ( ) until you hear the click. Repeat 3 or4 times if necessary until the burner is lit.6) If the burner fails to light, turn the control knob to the "off"position (l). Wait 5 minutes before repeating theoperation.7) As soon as the burner is lit, the other burner automaticallylights when the second control knob is placed in the fullflame ( ) position without pushing the automatic igniterbutton again.Important:If the burner fails to light after the 2 nd attempt, turn thecontrol knob to the "off" position (l) and check that theburner oulets and venturi tubes are not blocked.Q If your apparatus has only 1 control knobRead steps 1 to 5 before beginning with step 1.1) Make sure the control knob is in the "off" (l) position.2) Push the end of the hose completely onto the regulatornozzle and secure with a suitable clip. Fit the regulator ontothe gas cylinder in accordance with its instructions.3) Open the gas cylinder valve.4) Press the control knob and turn it to the full flame ( )position, then immediately press the igniter button ( )until you hear the click. Repeat 3 or 4 times ifnecessary until the burner is lit.5) If the burner fails to light, turn the control knob to the "off"position (l). Wait 5 minutes before repeating the operation.Important:If the burner fails to light after the 2 nd attempt, turn thecontrol knob to the "off" position (l) and check that theburner outlets and the venturi tube are not blocked.i) Grill burner-manual lightingIf the automatic ignition should fail to operate, turn the controlknob to the "off" position (l) and wait 5 minutes. Insert aburning match into one of the side openings of the base, andturn the knob on the right of the control panel onto the fullflame ( ) position.j) Turning off the grill burnerReturn the control knobs to the "off" position (l), then closethe cylinder valve.k) Lighting the side stove (if applicable to your model)<strong>The</strong> stove may operate independently or in conjunction withthe grill burner.Lighting:- open the gas cylinder valve.- check that there is no gas leak between the gas cylinder andthe stove.- check the condition of the hose connecting the grill burnerto the stove. Should it present cracks, call our After SalesService to have it replaced.- open the valve of the stove (towards the +) and press theigniter button ( ) until you hear the click. Repeat three orfour times if necessary. Should the stove fail to light, presenta match to the edge of the burner.- adjust the size of the flame to the dimensions of thecontainer you are using by opening the valve to variousextents. Do not use a container smaller than 10 cm or largerthan 26 cm.l) Turning off the side stove (if applicable to your model)Close the stove valve (towards the -) and the valve of the gascylinder if the grill burner is not in use.m) Replacing the gas cylinder- Always work in a well ventilated area and never in thepresence of a flame, spark or heat source.- Return the control knobs in the "off" position (l) then closethe cylinder valve.- Remove the regulator, check that the sealing joint is in goodcondition.- Put the full cylinder in place, refit the regulator, taking care notto apply stress to the hose. Check for gas leaks.n) OperationQ If your apparatus has a lid- It's recommended that protective gloves be worn to handlecomponents which may be very hot.- Before cooking, preheat the barbecue for about 10 minutesin the full flame ( ) position with the lid closed.When using the barbecue for the first time, preheat forabout 20 minutes in the full flame ( ) position, in order toeliminate the smell of paint from new components.Cooking rate can be adjusted, depending upon the position ofthe control knobs.8
