In May 2005 we sponsored one of the competitions of the Italian
Boulder and Dry Tooling Cup in Gandino, Italy. Boulder and
dry tooling are two types of free climbing events with different
levels of diffi culty. The Gandino competition was one of a kind
because it took place in an urban setting with the sheer reinforced
concrete wall of a parking garage as a backdrop. In this
unique and exciting event, athletes from all over Italy competed
on the “Boulder Parking” climbing gym surrounded by the
green mountains of the Gandino Valley. RadiciGroup has been
The day nursery “Toyland” in Villa d’Ogna, Italy was opened in
September 2003 to fulfi l the needs of working mothers and
fathers at our fi bres and plastics production sites. This undertaking
was the result of RadiciGroup’s historical involvement
in that community and came to fruition two years ago,
thanks to the participation of the municipal government and
the local parish.
The day nursery can hold 18 children between the ages of 1

in the technical sports fabric market for years and our high-tenacity
yarn is found in the best safety ropes. It was logical for
us to sponsor an event of that kind, especially since it was held
in our own community. So many enthusiastic young people
participated in the event and the climbing specialists and press
thought it was a huge success, as well. The event was made
possible by the work of Koren CAI Val Gandino (local chapter of
the Italian Alpine Club) and many volunteers who helped out
with immense dedication and enthusiasm.

RadiciGroup obtained a day nursery license and was responsible
for remodelling a leased building in the centre of Villa
d’Ogna. We fund the project’s expenses so that the children
have all the necessary facilities and care. The day nursery has
helped the parents—our human resources—save time and
money, since an annual contribution from the companies reduces
monthly fees.
