cars and encouraged by her dad, she begins to participate in the
race up to get to do it paired with her daughter Monica Barziza,
winning the Ladies’ Cup (Coppa delle Dame) 14 times!
Another female figure who has stood out as a driver in the last 10
years is the talented Silvia Marini from Brescia: 5 times winner
of the “Ladies Cup”, she participated for the first time in 2012 at
the age of 26 together with a university mate. Since then she has
never lost an edition, this year will be her eleventh race and she
will team up with Irene dei Tos driving a 1929 Bugatti T40.
For the realization of this service, we met the brilliant driver
Cristina Meini aboard her flamboyant 1929 Lancia Lambda
torpedo. Cristina is another prominent “lady”, she has participated
six times as co-driver of her husband Tiberio Cavalleri, before
competing as a pilot twice and winning, in 2012, the coveted
Ladies’ Cup driving a Lancia Aprilia from 1938. His inseparable
travel companion is the wristwatch she received as a gift from
his father, produced specifically for the 1950 Mille Miglia. The
particular strap allows to keep the case on the narrowest side of
the wrist, facilitating the reading of the time while driving.
This year there will be 20 female pilots and we wish everyone a
good result!
