CORSA D’AUTORE is a short novel, published in 2008 and
ready for reissue (expected with unpublished pieces, in 2022),
with a historical setting. Enriched with “vintage” photos, from
the private archive of Roberto Barucco and his photographer
friend Gabriele Strada, especially from the 1950s, which better
situate the reader in the climate, in the general context.
Some of the photos taken from the novel are now gigantographs
at the entrance to the Museum of the Mille Miglia in Brescia.

There is Mille Miglia, in the background, the passion of children
for engines (that’s why on the cover there is a child in front of
the face of a racing car), the “machismo” and hunger that push
them to enlist and then make different choices, women and
loves, those dreamed girls who pass, from the Forties and skirts,
to American drinks and trousers of the Fifties and, leaving the
uniforms as Young Italian, learn to chew the chewing gum and
the first clumsy steps of Rock’n Roll. While, once again, the horse
chestnuts bloom, the silver Mercedes sprint, the politicians
return, those “cleaned up” from the past and those who do not.
And those who have died feel nothing more, dreams of rock’n
‘roll, illusions and youth.
