Preface.
During the autumn of 1951 and in the first half of 1952, the Bureau published
in part the principal preliminary figures on most of the material asked
for in the Population census, December 1, 1950. These preliminary figures were
computed from a 2 per cent sample of the population lists.
This first volume on the Population census of 1950 contains the final census
count figures and in some cases revised km 2 area figures for some of the administrative
divisions, and for agglomerations in the rural municipalities. Population
data for the other administrative divisions are available in the Bureau.
