O Simpósio irá desenvolver-se no âmbito de quatro áreas principais:<br />
Processamento de biossinal; Bioinformática; Biomecânica<br />
desportiva e performance humana; Biomecânica clínica<br />
e sistema sensório-motor. E incluirá também no seu programa<br />
workshops teórico-práticos:<br />
- Dinamometria isocinética: desenho, implementação e avaliação<br />
de protocolos clínicos e desportivos;<br />
- Avaliação funcional para populações específicas;<br />
- Análise de biossinal.<br />
A submissão de abstracts para comunicação oral e poster,<br />
assim como quaisquer outras informações inerentes ao simpó-<br />

Olimpíadas do Conhecimento:<br />
iniciativa aberta a jovens<br />
do 12º ano<br />
As Olimpíadas do Conhecimento da <strong>Universidade</strong> Fern<strong>and</strong>o<br />
<strong>Pessoa</strong>, na formatação de 2011, são dirigidas aos estudantes<br />
do 12º ano de escolaridade ou de ano pedagogicamente equivalente,<br />
de escolas dos subsistemas público e privado, localizadas<br />
em Portugal Continental e Insular.<br />
Trata-se de uma iniciativa aberta a todas as escolas secundárias<br />
do país, com participação por equipas constituídas por três<br />
alunos e que, este ano, incidirá sobre os domínios da Língua<br />
Portuguesa e da Matemática.<br />
As inscrições deverão ser realizadas até 14 de Abril de 2011 e a<br />
prova nacional ocorrerá a 7 de Maio de 2011. As equipas vencedoras<br />
obterão diversos prémios e incentivos.<br />
AGEnDA 101<br />
- To develop knowledge, skills <strong>and</strong> experiences associated with<br />
<strong>the</strong> research, clinical <strong>and</strong> sports use of different competences,<br />
facilities, materials <strong>and</strong> technical-scientific advances conducive to<br />
optimisation in <strong>the</strong> fields referred to above;<br />
- To encourage partnerships with national <strong>and</strong> international<br />
research units of a similar nature;<br />
- To foster <strong>the</strong> educational, research, clinical <strong>and</strong> social mission of<br />
<strong>the</strong> institution.<br />
The Symposium will cover four main areas: Biosignal processing;<br />
Bioinformatics; Sports biomechanics <strong>and</strong> human performance;<br />
Clinical biomechanics <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> sensory-motor system. And it will<br />
include also in its programme <strong>the</strong>oretical/practical workshops:<br />
- Isokinetic dynamometry: design, implementation <strong>and</strong> assessment<br />
of clinical <strong>and</strong> sports protocols;<br />
- Functional assessment for specific populations;<br />
- Biosignal analysis.<br />

Knowledge Olympics initiative<br />
open to 12th year school students<br />
The University Fern<strong>and</strong>o <strong>Pessoa</strong> Knowledge Olympics, in <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
2011 format, are aimed at 12th year school students or equivalent,<br />
from public <strong>and</strong> private schools in Mainl<strong>and</strong> Portugal <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> Isl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />
It is an initiative open to every secondary school in <strong>the</strong> country,<br />
with participation by teams of three students <strong>and</strong> this year will<br />
focus on <strong>the</strong> areas of Portuguese Language <strong>and</strong> Ma<strong>the</strong>matics.<br />
Registrations must be received by 14 April 2011 <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> national<br />
test will take place on 7 May 2011. The winning teams will receive<br />
various prizes <strong>and</strong> incentives.
